"How doth the little busy bee

Improve each shining hour,

And gather honey all the day

From every opening flower!"

I know that I have said this before, but my relationship with bees and insects has evolved. Since embarking on this photographic journey, I am more appreciative of these creatures. I am most likely more respectful too.

We all seem to start out in life with people warning us of all insects. We saw this with our own sons. Teachers who are squeamish at childlike curiosity about insects. People who teach children that insects are things to avoid. They are incorrect.

Do not avoid our bee friends. Do not harm them. Observe them. They have much to teach and give us.
