One of the features that the National Park Service discusses in the Grand Canyon is light. There is an emphasis that one stands in a place such as the North Rim long enough, the light changes. Changes in the light change the view of the Grand Canyon in minutes.

This subject of light and the moods they suggest is not limited to the Grand Canyon. They also exist on Narragansett Bay. On any given afternoon, one may wander over an area and view radical changes in light. The clouds cover the sun and there are shading and gaps that reflect the light in a variety of ways. The results range from translucent water to reflective water, to opaqueness.

Is the West Passage of Narragansett Bay the Grand Canyon? No. It's the West Passage of Narragansett Bay. Does Narragansett Bay have the natural wonder of the Grand Canyon? That is what is waiting for discovery. It is impressive.
