Summer fog is the most interesting thing. It creeps in as the morning breaks and rolls in as evening arrives. On this day in Newport Harbor, it seems to settle but is in fact patchy in its nature.



But as we observe from the shore, its ethereal quality lends a sense of calm that even lends to conversations. As we observe these boats on their moorings, we are actually discussing the weather. The discussion leads to spinning yarns about journeys in fog. And that is what people who have worked on the water in the fog will do.
