Photography is an art form that oftentimes converges and commingles with documentation. Documentation is something that we do for both mundane and unusual events.
On the evening of July 20, 2021, a mundane event, the rising of the Moon, crossed with the unusual. The unusual event was Canadian wildfire smoke sweeping down into New England. At Nautical Twilight, the rays of the setting sun illuminated the atmospheric smoke. The result was the atmosphere acting as a giant filter over the waxing gibbous Moon, giving a red effect.
