The Dialogue Of Flowers by Keith R Wahl, Made From RI Gallery

"The artist is the confidant of nature, flowers carry on dialogues with him through the graceful bending of their stems and the harmoniously tinted nuances of their blossoms. Every flower has a cordial word which nature directs towards him". – Auguste Rodin

Spring, summer, and fall, flowers are a constant in Rhode Island's shoreline life. They decorate natural shingled cottages and clapboard-painted Victorian houses. They add class to hotels on islands and welcome visitors. They add calm to passers-by who visit. But most of all, they add vibrant color to our lives. A hearty thanks to the hands that cultivate and maintain these wonders in our lives.

Hamilton Lotus

Hamilton LotusHamilton Lotus. Specifically an Indian Lotus (Nelumbo nucifera), an aquatic perennial native to tropical Asia and areas of Australia. Each individual plant can live for more than 1,000 years and their seeds retain their viability for just as long. This example is found in the control lagoon of the circa-1850 waterpower trench that once powered the looms at the old Hamilton Web textile mill in North Kingstown, Rhode Island.

Sunset Rose

Sunset RoseSummer is fleeting. Beach Roses only bloom for a season. Sunsets occur once and then they are gone. Sometimes, if we pay attention, we see all three things together. The experience is unique. Cherish such experiences. In this case, we have the privilege to record and preserve such unique beauty. Photographed during the sunset of summer 2020 at Beavertail Point, Jamestown, Rhode Island over the West Passage of Narragansett Bay.

Teddy Bear Sun

Teddy Bear SunWhile walking, I encountered a "Superted" or sunflower on an early August morning. The "Superted" is a hybrid breed of the "Teddy Bear" Sunflower. A rather sunny greeting for a walk in the Historic District of Narragansett, Rhode Island.
