Three Ways to Observe Black History Month

February is Black History Month, a time dedicated to celebrating and

recognizing the culture and contributions of African Americans in the U.S.

In 1926, Dr. Carter G. Woodson founded “Negro History Week,” and during the

civil rights movement in the 1960s it expanded to Black History Month on

many college campuses, and was eventually nationally recognized in 1976.
