Tidal Exposure by Keith R Wahl, Made From RI Gallery

We have a son who wants to be an archaeologist. Things uncovered from the past fascinate him. It's no wonder why. Things revealed from times past are part of our lives on the coast.

Walking on Narragansett Beach, a storm sweeps away the sands built up over time. There is a revelation of the skeletal remains of a pier of the past. The salt and sand have preserved the wood of the pilings.

By summer, these pilings will find themselves buried again. But for now, their appearance gives cause for thought and research. There are records and inquiries to research, and sea level calculation and considerations. History awaits discovery and making in these sands.
