I’m hard-pressed to find any investment that’s more sustainable than farmland.After all, land (in this context at least) has been around for millennia, and farmland likely will be around in future millennia. To me, farmland is the ultimate sustainable investment.Investing in farmland is like investing in humanity. The global population is growing and is expected to reach more than 9 billion people by 2050. But, our supply of arable farmland isn’t growing. In fact, the supply of farmland is shrinking. Some years we lose more than 1 million acres of farmland in the United States alone.
