ADAMS COUNTY, PA (August 19, 2025) — A school bus transporting students from the Gettysburg Area School District was struck by a vehicle in Adams County on Wednesday morning, August 19, sending one high school student to the hospital for evaluation.

The crash happened in the 2000 block of Fairfield Road/Route 116 in Highland Township around 7 a.m., according to emergency dispatch. The bus was transporting students from Gettysburg Area High School and Middle School when the collision occurred.

According to the communications director for the district, one student was transported to a local hospital for evaluation as a precaution, but was able to return to school later in the morning. All other students on board were cleared by medical personnel at the scene and arrived safely at school later that morning.
