Shwedagon Pagoda, Myanmar: A Visitor’s Guide
The Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon, Myanmar, is the most important Buddhist temple in all of (the state formerly known as) Burma and a famous Buddhist pilgrimage site. The pagoda was built well over 2,500 years ago and renovated many times since then. It is believed to be one of the few surviving original structures from that era.
