The silverfish bug has flat and long bodies and they are anywhere from 1/3 to ¾ inches long. They also have the shape of a carrot. They are covered in scales and they will have two antennas coming off of their heads. They also have similar looking appendages that are coming off of their tail ends. You will not see this bug during the day as they are usually hiding at this time. They tend to come out at night. They tend to hide under or behind things and they like to be in cool, damp places. The places that you most likely will find them in your home include basements, kitchens and bathrooms. It is interesting to keep in mind that a female silverfish bug can lay up to 100 eggs during their life. When they lay the eggs, they may lay one or two at a time. The eggs will usually hatch in three to six weeks. The bug itself usually finds its way into your home in your food, old papers, or old books.
